Denmark, Norway and Sweden agreed to finance a joint $500 million package of United States equipment and ammunition for Ukraine under a new NATO programme.
The commitment followed a package worth more than $500 million financed by the Netherlands one day earlier. NATO said the first two deliveries under the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List were worth more than $1 billion combined.
The programme allows European NATO members and Canada to pay for equipment that the United States can supply quickly. NATO coordinates the packages with Ukraine and its support command in Germany.
