The North Atlantic Council approved a new purchasing policy for goods, construction and services financed through NATO common funding.

The rules allow NATO bodies to choose from a wider range of purchasing methods and make faster use of products already available from industry. NATO said the policy was designed to improve speed while preserving transparency and fair competition.

The policy and a new procedure for competitive purchasing took effect on 22 July. They support commitments made at the 2025 Hague Summit to speed up the delivery of military capabilities and technology.
