NATO and Jordan signed a legal agreement to establish a diplomatic NATO Liaison Office in Amman. The agreement was signed by NATO representative Javier Colomina and Jordanian Ambassador Yousef Bataineh.
The office will be NATO's first diplomatic office in the Middle East. The plan was announced at the 2024 Washington Summit and is intended to support political dialogue, practical cooperation and Jordan's defence capacity building programmes.
