Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chair of the NATO Military Committee, attended the Indo Pacific Chiefs of Defence Conference in Hua Hin from 26 to 28 August. The United States Indo Pacific Command and the Royal Thai Armed Forces hosted the annual meeting.

Military leaders discussed security conditions in Northeast Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania. Talks also covered maritime security, cyber security, new technology and other threats that cross national and regional borders.

Cavo Dragone said security in the Euro Atlantic and Indo Pacific regions was increasingly connected. He referred to China's and North Korea's support for Russia's war against Ukraine and called for closer dialogue with regional partners on shared security concerns.
