Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone visited Bulgaria from 14 to 16 July for meetings with the country's political and military leaders.

Talks with President Rumen Radev, Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov, Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov and Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov covered Black Sea security, support for Ukraine and decisions from the NATO Summit in The Hague.

Cavo Dragone also visited the Novo Selo Training Area, where an Italian led NATO multinational battle group trains. He said Bulgaria's defence industry and its position in the Black Sea region were important to NATO planning.
