The North Atlantic Council approved the nomination of US Air Force Lieutenant General Alexus G. Grynkewich as NATO's next Supreme Allied Commander Europe. He was serving as Director for Operations of the US Joint Staff.
Following national confirmation, Grynkewich was expected to replace US Army General Christopher G. Cavoli at a ceremony at NATO's military headquarters in Mons, Belgium. The position oversees Allied Command Operations.
