NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska said the Alliance would continue helping Ukraine defend itself and prevent future Russian attacks. She spoke during a panel on Ukraine at the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia.

Shekerinska said NATO members had provided more than $2 billion in support through the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List. The initiative allows European members and Canada to finance military equipment and supplies from the United States for urgent delivery to Ukraine.

She also pointed to the NATO Ukraine Council, NATO's representation in Kyiv, the support and training command in Wiesbaden and the joint training centre in Poland. She said continued military support and security guarantees were needed so Ukraine could negotiate from a stronger position and work toward lasting peace.
