NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson to discuss the approaching NATO Summit. He noted Sweden's contributions in Latvia, Finland, Poland and the Baltic Sea since the country joined NATO in March 2024.
Rutte welcomed Sweden's defence investment, industrial capacity and support for Ukraine. Sweden had provided more than 7 billion euros in military assistance to Ukraine since 2022 and was planning further increases in defence spending.
