NATO announced that Türkiye would host the Alliance's 2026 summit in Ankara on 7 and 8 July. The meeting was scheduled to take place at the Bestepe Presidential Compound.

Secretary General Mark Rutte thanked Türkiye for hosting and noted its contributions during more than 70 years as a NATO member. Alliance leaders were expected to review defence plans and current security challenges.

The Ankara meeting will be the second NATO summit hosted by Türkiye. Istanbul hosted the Alliance's leaders in 2004.
