The European External Action Service announced that it would open its Brussels headquarters to the public on Saturday, 10 May 2025, as part of Europe Open Day activities.

The programme was designed to give visitors direct exposure to the work of EU foreign and defence policy, including performances, presentations and activities explaining how the EU engages with the world.

EEAS framed the event as an invitation to experience the centre of European diplomacy rather than a conventional institutional visit. The open day aimed to make foreign policy more accessible to citizens by presenting EU external action through exhibitions and direct engagement.

The event also served a public diplomacy purpose, linking Europe Day celebrations with the EEAS mission of representing European values and interests internationally.
