The NATO International Military Staff hosted the European Union Military Staff at NATO Headquarters in Brussels for the 23rd IMS-EUMS Directors General Conference.
Lieutenant General Janusz Adamczak, Director General of the NATO International Military Staff, welcomed Lieutenant General Michiel van der Laan, Director General of the EU Military Staff, for the biannual meeting.
The discussions focused on practical cooperation between the two staffs, including how NATO can support the EU Military Staff in strengthening EU military exercises. The meeting also addressed the implementation of the EU White Paper for European Defence Readiness 2030.
The conference reflected the operational side of EU-NATO cooperation, where staff-to-staff coordination helps align exercises, planning and capability development without changing the distinct roles of the two organisations.
