The European Union and the Republic of Korea held the 21st meeting of their Joint Committee in Brussels, reviewing cooperation across political, economic and security-related areas.

The meeting continued a long-standing institutional dialogue between two partners that increasingly coordinate on global challenges, regional security and multilateral issues. Discussions covered the broader strategic relationship and ways to deepen practical cooperation.

The EU and South Korea also addressed issues linked to security, resilience, economic cooperation and the rules-based international order. The talks reflected a wider EU effort to strengthen partnerships in the Indo-Pacific.

Both sides used the Joint Committee to maintain momentum in bilateral relations and to prepare further engagement through existing partnership channels.
