The European Union and the Republic of Korea held their seventh Cyber Dialogue in Seoul, continuing bilateral cooperation on cyber policy, resilience and international security.
The two sides exchanged views on the cyber threat landscape and on frameworks for preventing, deterring and responding to cyber threats. They also discussed cybersecurity, resilience and ways to strengthen cooperation against malicious activity.
The dialogue included UN-related cyber stability issues, particularly the Open-Ended Working Group on information and communication technology, as well as cybercrime, the Counter Ransomware Initiative and cyber capacity building.
The EU side was chaired by Maciej Stadejek, Director for Security and Defence Policy at the EEAS, while the South Korean side was chaired by Youn Jong Kwon of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The next dialogue is expected to take place in Brussels.
