The European Union welcomed the 2025 report of the United Nations Youth Office and called for young people to have a meaningful role in international decision-making.
EU Ambassador Hedda Samson praised efforts to expand youth participation across the UN system and said young people should be treated as partners in policy development rather than only as beneficiaries of decisions.
The EU linked youth participation to more inclusive institutions, implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and stronger confidence in multilateral governance.
