The European Union condemned Israel's demolition of an EU and French-funded school in al-Aqaba in the occupied West Bank, saying the facility had been intended to serve hundreds of Palestinian students from several Area C communities.

Brussels said education is a fundamental right and stressed that European investments supporting Palestinian communities should be protected from damage or destruction in accordance with international law.

The EU linked the demolition to broader concerns over Israeli settlement policy and restrictions affecting Palestinian communities in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
