The European Union expressed concern over reported drone attacks on Port Sudan, warning that violence in Sudan was continuing to threaten civilians and critical infrastructure.
The statement was issued as Sudan’s war continued to create humanitarian and security consequences far beyond the immediate front lines. Port Sudan has served as an important logistical and administrative hub during the conflict, making attacks there particularly destabilising.
The EU linked the incident to its wider call for de-escalation, civilian protection and respect for international humanitarian law. It also underlined the need for Sudanese parties to pursue a political solution rather than deepen the fragmentation of the country.
The message reinforced the EU’s position that Sudan’s crisis requires urgent international attention, humanitarian access and accountability for actions that endanger civilians.
