The European Union announced a EUR 4.05 billion disbursement to Ukraine ahead of the country's 34th Independence Day, combining EUR 3.05 billion from the Ukraine Facility with EUR 1 billion in exceptional Macro-Financial Assistance.
The payment brought support delivered through the Ukraine Facility to EUR 22.7 billion since the instrument began in March 2024. The EU said the latest payment followed Ukraine's completion of 13 reform indicators covering areas including public administration, public assets, human capital, the green transition, digital regulation and critical raw materials.
The additional EUR 1 billion came through the EU contribution to the G7-led Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration initiative. The EU said total assistance mobilised by the Union and its Member States since Russia's full-scale invasion had reached EUR 168.9 billion.
