The European External Action Service launched European Public Diplomacy Week, bringing together participants to discuss how the EU communicates its role, values and partnerships abroad.

The event focused on the practice of public diplomacy at a time when global narratives, information manipulation and strategic communication are increasingly important to foreign policy. Participants explored how the EU can engage more effectively with publics beyond government-to-government channels.

The programme included discussions, exchanges and visual storytelling linked to Europe’s presence in the world. It also reflected the EEAS view that diplomacy today requires direct communication with societies, not only formal exchanges between institutions.

European Public Diplomacy Week reinforced the idea that credibility, cultural understanding and local engagement are central to the EU’s external action.
