The European Commission announced €505 million in financial support for Lebanon for 2026 and 2027, completing the second half of the €1 billion package announced in 2024.
The funding will support education, health care, social protection and water services, including assistance for vulnerable families and people with disabilities, as well as economic recovery, reforms and border management.
A separate component will support civil society, including organisations working on the rights of women, young people, minorities and persons with disabilities, as well as cultural heritage and social cohesion.
The package comes amid major humanitarian pressures and displacement in Lebanon, alongside EU humanitarian funding already provided for emergency health care, shelter and basic needs.
