A Horizon Europe research call supporting the EU's Clean Industrial Deal has received 144 proposals for projects designed to advance clean technologies and reduce emissions from energy-intensive industries.

Sixteen proposals are expected to be selected for funding following evaluation, with results scheduled for December 2026. Fifty-seven proposals were submitted on decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries, with an indicative budget of EUR 125 million, and 87 on clean technologies for climate action, with EUR 150 million available.

The call is intended to support a new generation of demonstrators combining technological performance with market readiness, helping clean-industry technologies move toward commercial deployment.

The Commission says the effort is intended to strengthen the EU innovation pipeline and prepare solutions for private and public investment, including possible support through programmes such as the Innovation Fund.
