The European Commission marked Breast Health Day by highlighting the importance of early detection, reliable health information and continued support for women living with breast cancer.
In an interview with Europa Donna Executive Director Marzia Zambon, the Commission examined the challenges patients face in navigating diagnosis, treatment and the return to everyday life.
Under Europe's Beating Cancer Plan, the EU aims to ensure that 90 percent of recommended target groups have access to evidence-based, quality-assured breast cancer screening.
The discussion stressed that policy commitments must be translated into accessible healthcare, informed decisions and practical support for patients and survivors.
